Taja was born in New Rochelle, NY and raised in Virginia Beach, VA. She trained at Denise Wall’s Dance Energy and at age 15, won the NYCDA National Teen Female Outstanding Dancer title.
Taja is currently working on many projects within the entertainment community but her credits on stage include dancing for Janet Jackson, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Nicole Scherzinger, Brandy, FKA TWIGS, Missy Elliott, Diddy, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Ne-Yo, Kanye West, 50 Cent, Pitbull, Bruno Mars, The Wanted and many others.
Taja has assisted Mia Michaels, Travis Wall, and Brian Friedman on the hit television show “So You Think You Can Dance” and winning an Emmy for the infamous “Addiction” piece. Her film and TV credits include “For Colored Girls”, “Happy Feet 2”, “Glee”, “The X-Factor USA”, Beyonce's visual album "Lemonade", Justin Bieber's visual album for "Purpose" , Guest appearances on "Love and Hip-Hop", "Growing up Hip- Hop", and a TV Personality on Oxygen’s “All the Right Moves”.
Taja has choreographed for Fergie and recently directed, choreographed, and danced in the BET AWARDS during a performance honoring the “Legend Award” recipient, her Dad [Teddy Riley] with other musical icons such as Keith Sweat, Dougie Fresh, Bobby Brown, The Jacksons, and SWV. She has also assisted with choreography for Britney Spears (Femme Fatale Tour), Demi Lovato (Skyscraper Tour), and Beyoncé (Mrs. Carter Tour).
